Worked for the Federal Government for 32 years to include the Dept. of Commerce as a Meteorologist Technician with the National Weather Service; did a tour of duty in Miami Florida at the University of Miami Hurricane Center. One interesting experience with this job was I had an opportunity to fly in a C-130 to track a hurricane to determine its path and strength. Before computers became widely used, I went to the US Capitol on a daily basis to post Weather maps whenever Congress was in session and occasionally met a few congressmen who wanted to know about weather conditions in their home state. I started out in another government job with the General Service Administration, but this last only one year when I moved to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). Just added this part. No longer in Washington, DC. My family and I moved to Brunswick, Georgia, in 2016 after my wife retired from the Dept. of Justice with 35 years of government service. We sold our home in Washington and had a new one built in Georgia. We were also blessed to do some traveling to include several cruises, one to Alaska and Vancouver, Canada.
